Information and options for objecting to analytics tools and service providers

Below is an overview of the cookies and tools we use. You can view and change your cookie settings with us at any time.

1. Essential cookies

Essential cookies ensure the core functions and security of our website and store your cookie settings. They cannot be disabled. You can configure your browser to block these cookies or to notify you when they are used. However, some parts of the website may then not function properly.

OneTrust LLC’s Cookie Consent Tool

This website uses the Cookie Consent Tool provided by OneTrust LLC, Dixon House, 1 Lloyd’s Avenue, London, EC3N 3DQ, +44 (800) 011-9778 (“OneTrust”) to obtain valid user consent for cookies and cookie-based applications that require consent.

By embedding a corresponding JavaScript code, a banner is displayed to users when they visit the page, allowing them to grant consent for specific cookies and/or cookie-based applications. In doing so, the tool blocks the setting of all cookies requiring consent until the respective user has granted the relevant consent. This ensures that such cookies are only set on the user’s device where there is a legal basis for doing so.

To enable the cookie consent tool to uniquely assign page views to individual users and to individually record, log and store the consent settings selected by the user for the duration of a session, certain user information (including the IP address) is collected by the cookie consent tool when our website is accessed, transmitted to OneTrust’s servers and stored there.

This data processing is carried out in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in legally compliant, user-specific and user-friendly consent management for cookies and, consequently, in the legally compliant design of our website.

2. Analytical cookies

Analytical cookies provide us with statistical insights into how our website is used and enable us to measure the success of our campaigns and improve the customer experience.

Mapp Digital c/o Webtrekk GmbH, Boxhagener Str. 76-78, 10245 Berlin

In order to continuously improve our services and resolve issues more quickly, we use web analytics technologies provided by Mapp Digital c/o Webtrekk GmbH, Boxhagener Str. 76-78, 10245 Berlin. Webtrekk GmbH has been certified by TÜV Saarland in the field of data protection. In particular, the collection and processing of tracking data have been reviewed and certified for data protection compliance and data security.

When you use this website, information transmitted by your browser is collected in pseudonymised form and evaluated exclusively in aggregated form.

This is done using cookie technology and so-called pixels, which are integrated into every website. Data collected in this way includes, for example, browser type/version, operating system, screen resolution, IP address (which is pseudonymised by truncating the final digits and collected solely for the purpose of session recognition and, where applicable, geolocation down to city level only, and deleted immediately after use), the website from which you visit us, and the pages you visit on our site. No further creation of usage profiles or analysis thereof takes place.

Under the Telemedia Act, as a visitor to our contact page, you have the right to object to the storage of your (pseudonymised) visitor data, including for the future, so that it is no longer collected in future. You can therefore object to the collection and storage of data by Webtrekk at any time with future effect. To do so, please use the relevant opt-out function provided by our service provider Webtrekk directly. To do this, please click on the following link: I would like to be excluded from tracking by Webtrekk

Your opt-out from tracking will be confirmed upon successful completion. The opt-out is maintained by a cookie called ‘webtrekkOptOut’. If you accept this cookie and do not delete it, you will not need to request to opt out of tracking again.

Google Ads Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA

We use the Google Conversion Tracking analysis tool provided by Google Inc. If you have arrived at our website via a Google advert, a so-called ‘conversion cookie’ is stored in your browser software. These cookies are not used for personal identification and expire after 30 days. If a cookie has not expired, Google and we can recognise that you arrived at our website by clicking on a specific advert. As each Ads customer receives a different cookie with Google Conversion Tracking, these cookies cannot be tracked across the websites used by Ads customers.

The information collected by the conversion cookie is used solely to generate conversion statistics for Ads customers who use conversion tracking. This enables us to evaluate and improve our marketing activities, for example by displaying more relevant adverts. The information provided to Ads customers is the total number of users who clicked on an advert from the Ads customer and subsequently visited a page on which the conversion cookie is embedded. Ads customers do not receive any information that can be used to personally identify users. The cookie remains active for up to 1 year.

You can refuse the setting of cookies via your browser settings if you do not wish to participate in the aforementioned process. One option is to change your browser settings so that the setting of cookies is automatically disabled. Another option is to disable cookies from the domain www.googleadservices.com in your browser software. Installing a suitable browser plug-in could also prevent the cookie from sending information.

You can opt out of receiving interest-based advertising and the use of cookies for these purposes by visiting the following website:

https://www.google.com/ads/preferences/html/opt-out.html.

By consenting to the use of statistical cookies, you agree to the processing of the anonymised data collected about you by Google in the manner described above and for the purpose stated above. Please note that Google has its own privacy policy, which is independent of ours. We accept no responsibility or liability for these procedures and guidelines. We ask that you familiarise yourself with Google’s privacy policy at the following address:

https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.

Our advertising partners (Google) set cookies in our users’ browser software, which are also non-personalised. For example, they are used to tailor products and services to you and to display relevant advertising. Google users can adjust and disable ad settings for display advertising on the Google Display Network at the following address:

https://www.google.com/settings/ads?hl=de.

3. Marketing cookies

Marketing cookies provide us with information about your visits to our website and the content you have viewed. They help us to identify content relevant to you and display it to you. They also enable us to show you personalised offers and tailor advertisements outside our website to your interests.

Facebook Pixel

For the purposes of analysing, optimising and the economic operation of our onlineoffering, we use the “Facebook Pixel” from our contractual partner Facebook Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland (“Facebook”) on our website. With the help of so-called tracking pixels integrated into our pages, users’ actions can be tracked after they have viewed or clicked on an advertisement placed via Facebook. This allows the effectiveness of such advertisements to be recorded and optimised for statistical and market research purposes. We cannot draw any conclusions about the identity of users from the data collected. However, Facebook stores and processes this data in such a way that a link to the respective Facebook user profile is possible. This enables Facebook to display advertisements on Facebook pages or in Facebook applications, as well as outside of Facebook. We have no influence over this use of the data. Further information on how Facebook processes personal data can be found in Facebook’s privacy policy at  https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/.

We use the Facebook Pixel on the legal basis of the consent you have given. Further information on the Facebook Pixel, in particular regarding how it works, the type of personal data processed, our joint responsibility with Facebook under data protection law, and your ability to withdraw your consent at any time, can be found in our privacy policy.

4. Other service cookies

These cookies enable us to provide you with other types of adverts or tools (e.g. for services not directly available on generali.de), including those relevant to your interests, whilst collaborating with authorised third-party providers in the provision of content. Please note that your personal data may be transferred to and processed in third countries (e.g. the USA) where there is a risk that the level of data protection may not be comparable to EU standards.

Further details on the processing of personal data by YouTube can be found in YouTube’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de&gl=de
